Step-by-step instructions for the exterior decoration of a wooden house

Proper decoration of a wooden house is the basis of its longevity. This process involves several simple steps, thanks to which your coating will last much longer compared to conventional painting. If your house is already painted, it is necessary to carry out preventive or restoration painting every two years to protect the wood from weathering. We will tell you more about this.

Step 1 – Grinding

Careful preparation of the surface is the basis of the fundamentals of finishing a wooden house. Grinding must be done with a machine with grain from 100 to 220 units. In this process, the old layer is removed, the surface is leveled and the pores open, so that the antiseptic that is applied immediately after grinding penetrates deeper into the tree. Therefore, the better the grinding is done, the better the wood will be protected from pests – blue, mold and bugs.

Step 2 – Choose a brush

Renner Italia materials for protecting a wooden house are unpretentious to apply, optimally suited for brush application. The manufacturer recommends using brushes with mixed bristles, their main distinguishing feature is the combination of the advantages of natural and synthetic bristles. Natural fibers of such a brush provide a high paint yield, while artificial fibers allow you to keep their shape and prevent swelling from contact with aqueous coatings. In other words, the mixed bristles have increased wear resistance, perfectly absorb, hold and evenly distribute coatings on the surface. Please note: all materials must be applied in the longitudinal direction.

Step 3 – apply the antiseptic.

The first is the Renner YM M101 antiseptic. It is a non-combustible, eco-friendly, odorless, water-based material. It has universal characteristics and well protects the wood from blueing. All antiseptics in the Renner line have a liquid consistency, due to which they penetrate deeply into the wood. When applying, you can not worry about the excess material and its smudges, the antiseptic is well absorbed and leaves no residue.

Step 4 – Stripping

The next step, after the antiseptic is completely dry, it is necessary to remove the pile. In fact, each villus on the surface of the wood is a capillary through which moisture can enter the surface of the surface, which will subsequently lead to damage to the paintwork.

Step 5 – applying the finishing material

Next, you can begin to apply the first layer of the finishing material. Please note that the material must be mixed thoroughly before use. This applies to both varnish and oil. To protect the surface, the finish layer is applied in two or three layers with intermediate drying for 2-3 hours.

Step 6 – end sealing

At the final stage, mastic should be applied to seal the ends. For this, the Renner AY M422 is best suited. This material creates a water-repellent barrier and protects the ends well from moisture. As practice has shown, it can withstand extreme operating conditions, including sudden changes in temperature. The mastic must be carefully distributed over the entire surface of the ends, it penetrates deep into the wood fibers, filling the cracks and cracks. Drying time is about 2-3 hours. Thus, you can paint a house with an area of 100-150 sq.m in almost 1 day.
